Hi, I'm Mashal, a techie- turned-media entrepreneur, startup mentor, and an accessibility advocate.

I’ve scaled a global media startup, and I‘ve been mentoring and advising startups in the Middle East since 2016.

I’m the co-founder and COO of The Tempest, a global media company. In the last 3 years, The Tempest has become one of the fastest-growing women's media companies, with millions of readers around the world.

I’ve worn different hats in my startup as an entrepreneur- and I’ve had my resilience, determination, and just about everything else challenged to the core. I’ve been learning and unlearning continuously during my journey, and this newsletter is where I’ll be sharing all this, my thoughts, and everything in between.

If you’re still reading here’s a few more things about me:

I have experience in growing operations have experience in sustainably scaling operations, building effective content experiences, and growing user traction.

I’m passionate about accessibility and intersectional growth for entrepreneurs in the startup ecosystem. I’ve given two TEDx talks, and I’m a frequent speaker (despite being an introvert) on topics related to entrepreneurship, accessibility and inclusion, mental health, and women in tech.

I'm also one of the authors of The Possibilities Project book, a non-profit initiative to help students on a journey of self-discovery, independence, and career success.

Oh, and I love Lord of the Rings.
